In these classes we work gently and slowly with yoga movement for an hour and then practice sitting and lying meditation for the last half hour. The skills we learn on the mat can have an impact on our daily lives, reducing stress and reactivity, improving our general health and sense of well-being. As well as reminding us of how to relax the body, releasing tension and stress from our muscles and joints, Mindfulness Yoga helps us to grow stronger and to develop endurance, stability, balance and flexibility. Most importantly, the practice of Mindfulness Hatha Yoga brings us home to ourselves, helps us to integrate mind and body, teaches us more about who we are and connects us with our innate wholeness, no matter what our level of fitness is.
These classes are open to all, with or without prior experience of yoga and meditation. For those who have completed 8 week MBSR/MBCT courses and for those who have a regular meditation practice, the classes can provide you with a weekly support to your practice.
